My First (Real) Post.
So. This is it. I said I would really get my blog up and running this summer and here I am, experiencing a kind of stage fright. What in the world was I going to say? And who is going to read it? As I noted in my "trial post" (see previous), I have enjoyed so much humor, inspiration, gorgeous eye candy and new concepts (Japanese craft books!) by reading other people's blogs, that I felt it was time to give something back. So here goes.

This is the blog of a 43-year old woman in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, wife, mother of 2 lovely kids, educator, and mostly a crafter who cannot be stopped. My hands itch constantly to make ... anything. With yarn, fabric, glitter, paper, beads, a couple of sticks and rocks if I'm stuck in the woods. I think constantly about what I can make next. What are other people making? Is there a new magazine featuring a new craft/material/artist/artist studio? Did I fall behind reading so-and-so's blog?

Unfortunately, the time I have to actually make things is much less than I would like. In fact, one of my fears is that I think about and read about crafts more than I actually craft, but I don't want to examine that too closely.

Okay, enough about me. Let's get to the good stuff. I'll leave you with a photo of a recent creation, a little Christmas ornament that I made after Christmas. Which is a great lead-in to my next post.
